We equip learners with the academic proficiency and confidence needed to make informed choices about their future educational and career paths. Grade 7 education marks a significant transition for our learners as they enter the senior phase, focusing on both academic and personal development. Our primary purpose in Grade 7 is to consolidate foundational knowledge from earlier grades while preparing learners for more advanced learning in subsequent years. We use a variety of teaching methods to broaden understanding across core subjects such as mathematics, languages, arts, sciences and social studies, thus fostering critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, we nurture social and emotional growth by encouraging collaboration, empathy and effective communication among peers. We lay the groundwork for adolescents to explore their interests, develop a sense of responsibility and begin to envision their future educational and career aspirations with greater clarity and purpose.
Auxiliary Learning Area: Basic Computer Literacy.
We are aware and appreciate the fact that computer literacy is indispensable in today's interconnected world. We have therefore designed an auxiliary course that will give our grade 7 learners basic computer skills. These skills lay the foundation for navigating digital environments with ease and confidence, thus enabling the learners to access and utilize information effectively. The course includes understanding how to operate hardware and software, navigate operating systems, manage files and use productivity tools such as Microsoft word and PowerPoint. Such knowledge empowers learners to communicate efficiently, participate actively in the digital age, conduct research and collaborate online, thus enhancing their academic performance and preparing them for future success in both personal and professional endeavours. A trial run of this course was successfully conducted and full implementation will occur in due course.
